Why not try out a new class this summer with the WEA's free summer workshops hosted at Artlink. The short workshop are designed by experienced  tutors and artist to provide a welcoming and supportive environment in which students can learn and develop new skills. Over the summer we will be hosting the following courses at Artlink centre here on Princes Ave.

Trying Oils 


 3 sessions: 08/05/2017 - 22/05/2017
Time: 10:00 am-12:00 noon

You will learn how to compose a well balanced landscape painting, understand perspective, horizon lines and vanishing points, How to mix colour, create a mood atmosphere, light and shadow using colour and brush strokes, experiment with mixed media, painting styles and techniques.




Backyard gardening
Course dates: 13th May & 3rd June

The course will enable you to transform your backyard or small garden with fruit and vegetables growing alongside flowers to create a mini wildlife haven to be enjoyed by all the family.

 This will be an opportunity to reminisce about days gone by, from school days, to starting work, from factories to home life, and everything else! This is your chance to tell your story and hear those of others. We hope to create a more permanent record as we go along.Creating a supportive forum within which individual members can share their stories, find common ground and also strengthen their self-confidence and pride in their lives.

LIFE DRAWING SESSIONS 

 

This is an unguided session led by the drawers and responsive to the groups needs.
There's no tuition so there's complete freedom... we provides a model and basic materials in a fun, inclusive and relaxed environment.

​Designed to allow practice and development on a regular basis. The sessions are for artists of all levels to come and draw, unhindered and in whatever medium or style they choose! All levels are most welcome.

Runs Wednesday evening from 7.15-9.15pm

AN INTRODUCTION TO TABLETOP PRINTMAKING WITH AMY HUTSON

During the course of 6 weeks you will look at how you can do screen printing, drypoint etching and collagraphs from your own kitchen table.

Amy will teach you how to use each method to create beautiful prints, fabric, and cards for your home.

Starting on Tuesday the 25th of april  6-9pm and continuing weekly every Tuesday night.

COST:- £110 which covers all tutoring and materials are covered
