An exhibition at the Artlink Gallery showcasing a diverse collection of strong & insightful contemporary artwork by female artists to mark International Women's Day

This exhibition is Artlink's ninth annual Women's Work show, held in support of International Women's Day on March 8th. This years' exhibition has been titled Beneath the Surface, which refers both to the layering of ideas and concept of the art as well as the artistic process and application of mediums used to create the work on display. Featuring strong and diverse work by a number of women artists from around the UK, this show supports the many female practitioners working in the field of creative arts.

Beneath the Surface showcases a refreshing collection of work from 14 artists, all unique in their approach to creation and very distinct from each other. The artists presented in this exhibition are: Claire Adamson, Colette Bain, Dawn Brooks, Jemma Brown, Sarah Goudie, Lorna Jane Grossner, Kaori Homma, Joanna Pallaris, Katie Shipley, Dana Suckling, Natalie Toplass, Alice Warhurst-Kew, Emily Watkins and Mandy Williams.

A wide-range of media and art forms are on display including photography, film, painting, drawing, installation, sculpture and print. The subject matter of the artwork is also as diverse - from landscape and nature to portraiture, culture and abstraction - there is artwork on show in Beneath the Surface to appeal to and inspire all tastes.
