Every Picture Tells a Story is a family friendly exhibition which is sure to encourage and spark young imaginations. Inspired by National Storytelling Week (30th January to 6th February) this show features bright & cheerful illustration, artwork & photography with a strong pictorial aspect. This exhibition brings together work created by ten talented regional artists: Anna Bean, Alice Beasley, Ragna Blades, Helen Dalgairns, Rebecca Dennison, Rebecca Eden, Mike Harman, Katy Holmes, Rosie Scott Massie & Judy Musselle.

There will be free activities for children to participate in throughout the whole exhibition including puppets to play with, a drawing competition to enter, story books to read and an interactive artwork to colour in.

Artlink will also be staging children's art workshops over February Half term in conjunction with this exhibition, please see the calendar for full details.

Drawing Competition Winners

Artlink held a children's Drawing Competition as part of its 'Every Picture Tells a Story' Exhibition, 30th January to 1st March 2010.  We had a good response to this competition - over 35 children entered by drawing characters and scenes from either a storybook, their own imagination or the exhibition.  There were three different age categories and one winner for each age category has now been chosen we awarded prizes of art materials to each winner.  The winners for each category are:

  • Ages 1 to 4:     Sonny, aged 4 (left photograph with sister)
  • Ages 5 to 8:     Declan, aged 7 (middle photograph)
  • Ages 9 to 12:   Rita, aged 9 (right photograph)
